About Wanna
Wanna is an app for meeting new people nearby through plans, not swipes. You post what you wanna do, like coffee, a run or the night market, with a time and a place. People nearby tap “I’m in”, and you pick one.
Who makes Wanna
Wanna is a small, independent app made in Bangkok. The people who build the app also write everything on this site, guides included, so when a guide says “we”, that’s who it means.
Why Wanna exists
Swipe apps start with faces and hope for a plan. Wanna starts with the plan, and you pick who’s in.
Most people don’t need more matches. They need someone to say yes to a specific thing: the new ramen place, a 5K on Sunday, the gig nobody else wanted to go to. So on Wanna, the plan comes first and fills the screen, the host picks one person, and the chat opens with the time and place already set. Swipe apps get you a match. Wanna gets you out the door.
What Wanna stands for
- Plans first. The plan comes first and fills the screen; the host is one small line.
- Kind by design. No rejection screens. If a host picks someone else, everyone else gets a heads-up that the plan found its pair, and if a plan passes without a pick, you hear about that too. End kindly makes a polite goodbye a few taps away, so nobody has to go silent.
- Private by default. No ads, no third-party trackers in the app or on this site, and we never sell your data. Your exact location is never shown.
- Honest. No made-up user numbers, ratings or testimonials. Every statistic on this site has a named source, and when the honest answer is “not yet”, we say so.
Where things stand
Wanna is brand new. It’s an iPhone app (iOS 26 or later; it also runs on iPad), for people 18 and over, in English, and we’re starting in Bangkok. It’s launching soon on the App Store, free, with no subscription and no in-app purchases. There’s no Android version yet.
How we write our guides
We make Wanna, and every guide that mentions it says so and labels it. When we compare other apps, we stick to facts you can check on their own pages or in dated press reports, link the source, show the date we checked it, and include reasons to pick something else. We don’t take payment for mentions, and we don’t publish reviews or ratings. If we’ve got something wrong, email siroj.8b@gmail.com and we’ll fix it.
